In 2009, Sam
Hunter spent 9 months working on stud cattle ranches
across Canada. In this time he worked at Six Mile Ranch,
Soo Line Cattle Co, Ter-Ron Farms and Ivy Livestock, as
well as attending all major livestock shows, including
World Angus Forum and Calgary Stampede.
Spending
time working on Canadian Red Angus operations was such
an invaluable experience and one that has gained Sam a
lot of contacts throughout the industry. Whilst in
Canada, Sam was lucky enough to inspect many of the
breed legend sires and breed leading genetics that we
see being used at home in Australia. This was a
fantastic opportunity to inspect these cattle first hand
and gain his own opinion.
The North
American cattle industry is one that is very exciting
and geared up to be this way. The trip was a fantastic
opportunity and one that will not be forgotten.
